Step into the world of a wealthy pilgrim in Adornesdomein & Jeruzalemkerk, which dates back to the 15th century. Comissioned by a Christian pilgrim recently returned from Jerusalem, the church is full of dark carved wood lit by dim lights. The most famous piece in the chapel is the altar, adorned with skulls and ladders, which recalls an early era in Christianity. This same altar made an appearance in the film "In Bruges." Visit the museum attached to the church where you can read information plaques in English on the church's history, as well as a brief history on the city of Bruges.     Small and expensive compared to alternative sites in Bruges, but a unique medieval survival of an important chapel. There is an adjacent "museum", exhibition room, and sitting-room where you can relax with a coffee and snack.

    A very interesting church with a lot of history and a small museum explaining this.The estate has been owned by the same family for centuries. There was a quirky cosy "Scottish Lounge" with honesty box where you could help yourself to drinks and cake / Scottish shortbread. Toilets also available.
