The only permanent sea lion rookery in the Gulf of Nuevo, Loberia de Punta Loma gets you close enough to the animals for a good look at their behavior and--if you're lucky--the chance to meet some. You have many choices when it comes to getting there. If you go over land by road or across the dunes, expect to see the sea lions from above. You can also take a snorkeling tour to the area or a boat tour, and view the rookery from the water. Either way lets you get quite near to the creatures. If you come by water, some curious or playful sea lions may even want to introduce themselves. • It is about a half hour from the ship. Great place to view seal lions in the wild. Very steep cliffs where you can view them below. Peninsula Valdes has been listed as a World Heritage Site by...

  • Truly... a wonder! Better seen from the water than from above. Still, a visit there should be on your list. It is free of charge, after all. :-)
  • We got there right before closing so the sun was in our eyes and photographs were near impossible but the sea lions were still amazingly cute to watch. The babies are adorable - watching them bounce in and out of the water. They look like they are having so much fun. It’s close to down - the last few k are gravel roads. Worth going to.
